EV Chargers (Electric Vehicle Chargers)

Grant to provide support towards the costs of the purchase, installation, and infrastructure of electric vehicle chargepoints at eligible places of work.

Summary

The Workplace Charging Scheme provides support for organisations towards the cost of installing up to 40 electric vehicle chargepoint sockets at their sites.

The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (including VAT), capped at a maximum of:

£350 per socket

40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you want to install them at 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site

It is open to eligible:

businesses

charities

public sector organisations

small accommodation businesses

There is a separate scheme with a different grant amount for state-funded education institutions.

All chargepoints must be installed by an OZEV authorised installer.

The scheme is available in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It is not available in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

Accreditation

Mere UK are fully accredited NIC EIC Electrical and OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles) approved installers. Operating in the industrial, commercial, educational and retail sectors for blue chip companies.

Mere UK are able to install Workplace EV Chargers under the government ‘The Workplace Charging Scheme’ or ‘WCS’

EV Charger Aftercare, Maintenance & Support

Mere UK will arrange your site survey to installation design through to the  commissioning of your EV chargers with our dedicated service team able to undertake maintenance, aftercare and support to our customers.

Customer Parking

Mere UK will provide the right number of chargers to keep on top of the electric revolution curve. Providing full site surveys and analysis Mere UK will determine the current demand of electric vehicles using the car park. Installing fast chargers will provide customers with a desired quick and reliable service. Customers will be able to use chargers on a pay as you go model.

Staff Parking

If your business provides on-site parking for employees, installing EV charging points will help encourage staff to join the electric revolution.

Mere UK will work closely with you to create a bespoke rate for all staff on-site. This will provide staff with the exclusive benefit of charging with the lowest rates of electric, therefore ensuring the pay less to charge their vehicles at work. As demand grows at your development, additional chargers can easily be installed when the demand grows.

* A combination of both Customer and Staff tariffs can be made available to stratify both needs.

WCS? Does Your Business Qualify

The WCS is available to any business, charity or public authority – but to qualify, you must have the following:

  • Dedicated off-street parking for staff and/or fleets

  • Your charger must be installed by an OZEV approved workplace installer

  • No proof of EV is required but you will need to declare the business need or intent to encourage EV uptake amongst your staff and/or your fleet

  • You must own the property or have consent from the landlord for charge points to be installed at all the sites listed in the application

Grants will be applied for by Mere UK and deducted to the supply and installation cost of your EV installation.
