(M1407-40-M) Installation of FAAC Automatic Pedestrian and Vehicle Gates at St. James Primary School Skelmersdale.

Installation of new fencing, double vehicle swing gates and a single swing pedestrian gate.

The vehicle automatic gates have been designed for vehicle access only, a single Pedestrian gate entrance has been installed adjacent to the vehicle gate to direct pedestrians to a single automated single pedestrian gate entrance.

Completion Date: April 2020
Project Duration: 6 Weeks

Scope of works:

  • Installation and Automation of the existing vehicle entrance gates
  • Installation and Automation of the existing single pedestrian gate
  • Installation of Pedestrian Paxton Net2 access control
  • Installation of 2 x videx video intercoms
  • Installation of 25 x hand held remote fob operators for the staff who have been allocated a car parking space

St. James Primary School – FAAC Automatic Gate Project

Mere UK completed and commissioned the automatic vehicle entrance and automatic pedestrian entrance at St. James Primary School in Skelmersdale.

A ‘Ritherdon’ enclosure has been installed to allow the the control equipment of the system to be local to the gates.

A dedicated 240v supply has been installed.

Automatic vehicle gates

These automatic gates have been designed to not allow pedestrian access so Pedestrians have been diverted away from the automated vehicle entrance by directing pedestrians to a single automated single pedestrian gate entrance.

The vehicle gate has been installed with 2 x FAAC 400CBAC automatic gate operators controlled via a FAAC 455D control panel.

Entry through the vehicle gate to the site is controlled by hand held transmitters to allow for for staff entrance and a Videx video intercom has been installed for visitors and deliveries to gain access that is monitored from the schools reception.

Exit from the school vehicle gates is obtained by the use of vehicle induction floor loops installed in the secure area.

An over-ride key switch has been installed to allow for the vehicle gates to be over-ridden.

Automatic Pedestrian Gate

This automatic gate have been designed to allow pedestrian access so Pedestrians have been diverted away from the automated vehicle entrance by directing pedestrians to a single automated single pedestrian gate entrance.

The pedestrian gate has been installed with a FAAC 400CBAC automatic gate operator controlled via a FAAC E145 control panel.

Entry through the vehicle gate to the site is controlled by a Paxton Net2 Access control system for staff and a Videx videointercom has been installed for visitors and deliveries to gain access that is m onitored from the schools reception.

Exit from the school pedestrian gate is obtained by the use of a weather proof exit dome button located on a high visibility pedestal.

An over-ride key switch has been installed to allow for the pedestrian gates to be over-ridden.
